Are you aware that your faith is demonstrated when you thank God in advance for what He is going to do?

You promote a false view of faith by leaving out the most vital and pertinent element.

The way you portray it is as a kind of will wish worked up by man which is the opposite of what faith truly is.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Hearing God is the essential element, which is why faith only as small as a mustard seed is sufficient for anything no matter how gargantuan. Even if you only hear a whisper. What ever God says, He will do. It is as good as done.

You see how that places the total emphasis and dependence upon God and takes it totally off from man?

Framing our own desires in the clothes of His will is the wrong approach. We need to discover His will.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Isn't it odd that if you look at the number of prayers that are granted and their nature, it is indistinguishable from blind chance? Now apply Occam's razor: is god granting prayers in such a way as to look like blind chance is occurring, or is blind chance occurring?

There is no evidence to show that prayer works but plenty to show that it doesn't
