How do I keep my dog for stinking so bad?

You need to identify the source of the odor. Does your dog roll in something? Give your dog a bath, but not more than once a week. Their skin dries out too much if done more frequently. If the odor is from his/her breathe, consider changing dog food. Vets. also suggest you brush your dogs teeth. I have found that changing their diet (watch what treats you give) makes a big difference.

That would depend on what's causing the 'stink'. Usually, unless a dog is rolling in something nasty, the problem areas can be ears, teeth/gums and perhaps anal glands. Healthy dogs shouldn't smell bad so I'd maybe start by getting a health check.

Why is it stinking? Some medical disorders and diseases cause bad body odor. Dirty teeth also create a bad odor. You need to know why the dog has the odor in order to know how to treat it.

Time for a veterinary examination; make the appointment.

What the others said. If he has skin allergies you may want to switch food. Raw is the best.

    (1) Check anal glands for leakage, teeth for rot, and ears for infection

    (2) Brush and bathe the dog

    (3) Switch to a grain-free diet to reduce gas and improve skin and coat health (and therefore reduce smell)

    (4) Remove dog's access to nasty things to roll in!
