why do I get an email to choose best answer, then it won't let me choose an answer!?

The full version of Y!A might not show on your mobile device, like a laptop, desktop, or Windows based mobile. There are 3 different mobile firmware operating systems. Each one has its peculiarities.

I tried to Bill, but your profile is clamped shut. I can't see your Q or Ans.

This is probably happening because Yahoo are in the process of changing the system - a lot. We will soon not have the facility to choose best answer. That will be down to the one who asked the question, voting will cease, and if the asker does not choose then the decision will be made based on number of thumbs up.

Well.........that is what I have gathered from the email I had from Yahoo yesterday. Everyone will be receiving it in the fullness of time no doubt.

Do a refresh and clear/clean your caches and history

Go back and try again to vote for BA....You also have to click on the 5 stars and add details and then submit it. Hope that will work for you.

Note-if you click on less the 5 stars it will not work.

earlier today I had the YA program but it looked totally different. When I answered a question it wouldn't let me submit my answer. Plus the program was doing other weird things so I complained in an email to YA. This evening I have my old YA program back. So I suspect when lots of people complain they begin to fix things.

Well, usually when you click best answer, it is actually a vote for the best answer. Unless you're the one asking the question and you're picking a best answer for it.

Regarding no nicknames, just refresh the page.

Peggy is right. Yahoo is changing the way things work. There is an option to leave feedback, but it appears that this change will happen anyway.

For some unknown reason I wasn't able to see the option to select best answer when viewing on my cell phone. I had to log on my desktop to be able to see the option of selecting best answer.

That happens if you have more than one account and you attempt to award best answer from the wrong one. You're not the only one.

It isn't only you.
