HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printer?

My printer is printing a line on the left about two inches in, the full length of copies I make. I have cleaned the scanner glass several times and tried to clean the automatic feeder several times. The line is solid and pretty dark. What do I need to do to get rid of that line? This is top priority for me; I need clean copies. The warranty on the printer has expired three months ago.

If this only happens when you use the ADF, you'll need to find the small speck of contaminant on the glass that the paper passes across when the ADF is used. Look for it in the area that you see it on your copy. Use the copy to line it up on the glass.

If it happens when you use the flat bed glass too, then it's likely a printhead issue or contaminant in the paper path. It can also be a bad cable, cable connection, or scanner element for the scanner.
