Rand Paul says the Republican Party is like a pizza with a bad crust. Serious question - Is he right?

He's referring to Domino's who went for years before finally admitting their crust was terrible, making the analogy that if Republicans don't fundamentally change their party they'll become irrelevant or extinct.

I'm not a fan, but I think he's dead on. We need a strong Conservative party which the Republican Party clearly is not.

Kindly comment on the question and take the insults and liberal bashing elsewhere. Thanks.

I am conservative on fiscal matters but the "Republican's" annoy me with their near total obsession with the religious right. - I really have no problem with anyone wanting to live according to their religious values but I find it quite annoying when people try to use the government to force a religious agenda (or for that matter an anti-religious agenda which is just as wrong).

The only thing with conservatives like Rand Paul is that they mouth the need for change but get caught doing the worst of the stuff that doesn't change with the Republican party. Republicans will at best only wear lipstick.

I am a big fan of Rand Paul, but only because he fractures the right wing vote. Keep up the good work, Rand.

The problem here is that he wants more flour in the crust which makes it tougher, not better.

There is limited appeal to his kind of thinking, we have, painfully and slowly moved on from thinking its OK to justify prejudice if you run a business and keep 'certain' people out of it.

    Even a pizza place.

By that analogy, not only is the crust bad, but the toppings are poisonous.

We need a more moderate Republican Party.

How can you not be a fan of rand? He is the one who will bring the party back to the right, and he advocates for freedom & less governmental control. He is the only one holding the NSA accountable...

I agree, the crust is bad, a bunch of old crusty hypocrites, spoiling the rest of the pie. Some of their toppings are gross too.

Yes, the GOP is willing to commit suicide by attacking the tea party supporters, continue to push for war, illegal spying, promoting blatant fascism, etc...

He is correct, but he is only saying that because he doesn't want to discuss his own 'bad crust' policies that are identical to the far right. He is just as anti freedom as any other republican. The ONLY difference between him and every other republican is his anti neocon stance.
