american tv also portrays dudes as moronic, lazy, beer guzzling slobs that rely on their wives to make the smart decisions in the marriage.

Reality television usually portrays no one well. Mostly it just ruins the reputations of the people who are actually on the reality t.v. show. I would think that most intelligent people would not watch a reality television show and think they represent the reputation of half a nation.
