Xbox 360 500 gb hard drive?

Just bought a 500 gb Hd for my 360 Slim, put it in and it's not loading it. What is causing it?

    I take it you bought a generic 500GB internal drive? You need a jailbroken system for it to recognize a hard drive that large.

    Its because its not pre-formatted for use of an Xbox. Follow these steps and it should work. www.xbox.com/en-US/storage
