Should I say the reason I left a job was because I became ill?

I am a college student, about to graduate, and I am filling out resumes and applications.

About a year and a half ago I had a job as an office administrator at a campaign office and was a part time student during that semester. I had to quit the job because I had to move back home to be able to go to my numerous doctors appointments where my parents live. I had HMO insurance and was not able to go to a new doctor where my work was.

My friend thinks I should write that my reason for leaving the job was because of school. She says that if I write that my reason for leaving was because I was "ill" sounds like I am lazy.

I do not agree.

What do you think my reason for leaving should be? Please explain why.

-Became ill

-School

-Moved

Thanks in advance for you answers

Reason for leaving? Personal. If probed, only tell them that the situation was personal. It had nothing to do with the job itself, and that the situation has since been fully resolved. Don't elaborate. It is personal, remember.

First off, you can see a new Dr. under an HMO if you move, or are out of state. I work in insurance.

As for the job there isn't a need to give a reason for leaving. You were working for a campaign. They come to an end. Definitely don't listen to your friend! Who wants to hire a sickly person that is going to be calling off?

Do they teach anything at college?

simple answer is ur education is the most important thing; and the job was hurting the education. do not tell them u were sick; since that is a "bad mark" since they might thing u need the job for insurance purpose. good luck and God bless.
