  • Have you ever seen a laundry hamper/basket made out of solid wood?

    Hello.

I am thinking of creating my own laundry hamper/drawers for my bathroom so it is easier to sort out my dirty clothes and clothes I can wear again (pajamas). I also wanted to make my own hamper because I think most are unattractive and they do not suit my needs. However, I have noticed that almost no hampers are made out of solid wood.

Do you think that if I made a hamper out of solid wood, that it wood start to smell over time? Should I put a screen or a aluminum decorative sheet on one side? Like this

    http://www.homedepot.com/p/MD-Building-Products-1-...

I just wanted to hear your ideas about whether it would start to make the wood smell after a while. I did a little searching but I could not find the info I was searching for.

  • Should I say the reason I left a job was because I became ill?

I am a college student, about to graduate, and I am filling out resumes and applications.

About a year and a half ago I had a job as an office administrator at a campaign office and was a part time student during that semester. I had to quit the job because I had to move back home to be able to go to my numerous doctors appointments where my parents live. I had HMO insurance and was not able to go to a new doctor where my work was.

My friend thinks I should write that my reason for leaving the job was because of school. She says that if I write that my reason for leaving was because I was "ill" sounds like I am lazy.

    I do not agree.

What do you think my reason for leaving should be? Please explain why.

    -Became ill

    -School

    -Moved

Thanks in advance for you answers

  • Who controls flight regulations and flight path regulations?

I am not really sure how to word this question but I was wondering who makes the regulations for flying an aircraft in a specific area?

About 6 months ago there started to be a lot of small planes and helicopters flying around. I have lived in the same home my whole life, 24 years, and air-crafts have never been a problem until recently. They make so much noise and I feel like like fly too low. Is there anything I could do to try to make them fly higher so that are not so noisy?

I live about 8 minutes away from a very small airport in southern california,

Would I have to send a letter to a congressman's office to try to get them to fly their planes and helicopters higher?

I do not think I live that close to the airport but it is just that they fly the planes too low.

thanks in advance for any answers or suggestions

  • Can a school force a student to be in Special Education?

I read on a social media post that a school is forcing her brother to be in special education because he failed two classes. She also said that the school has not given her brother an IEP and that they will not allow him to just take summer school to make up for the courses.

Are there some states that can force a student to be in special education because they are lazy and do not do the work?

She said he does not have any disabilities.

What are her family's rights in this situation. The family would like to hire a tutor and for him to continue in regular or remedial classes.

thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Where do you buy your glasses online from?

I have never bought glasses before, my eye sight has only been getting bad the past two years.

I am 23 and I would like suggestions on where to buy quality glasses online. I do not want to buy anything that is more than 125$.

I am pretty sure that I can get lenses put in at wallmart, target, or at the optometry school that is across the street from my college.

Has anyone ever bought glasses online and had the lenses put in somewhere else? How do that work exactly?

My insurance doesn't cover eye care for some reason. Any links or general advice would be appreciated.

  • What is the tool you use to save websites, articles, or links in general?

I used to use google docs, but I want an organizational tool that can easily show pictures and links to articles. Do you use anything like that?

I want something to save mostly links to articles for a research paper I am doing. But, I want the images in the article to show as well as a little explanation about the article.

I found a list of organizational tools. I would just really appreciate some advice, feedback, hearing others' personal experience before picking one.

I also don't want to use pinterest.

I would appreciate any insight or feedback. Thanks in advance

It seems like it is mostly marketing that makes cereal popular in the U.S. Does anyone know if it is popular in other countries or even why it became so popular in the U.S. and when?

  • Need help on Fasfa, please!?

I have never filled out my fasfa before. My parents have always done it for me.

I know they have put that they I lived with them before. And I was always marked as a dependent. Is it better if I say that I don't live with them? I do live with my grandparents most of the time. I did that and it said that I was not an independent.

I also only worked for about 4 months last year and I got paid out of pocket so I didn't file a tax return. I never have anyways, my parents always did it for me before and I do not know anything about it. So, is it bad if I say that I am not going to file one?

I am also not working right now. Should I lie and say that I am working?

I don't expect to get grants or anything, I just want loans. My grandparents have been supporting me since January because I got really sick and I even had to take time off of school.

I just want to know if I won't get loans if I say I am not working and it technically says I am an independent.

    Thanks

  • Been throwing up for 10 days?

I have been throwing up for 10 days. I don't know if this is normal. It started with a sore throat 2 weeks ago. But, I have thrown up at least 30 times.

I went to my general practitioner a week ago and they said it was a cold and gave me a z pack. I had an allergic reaction to the z pack. Yellow eyes, conjunctivitis, tongue mouth and opening of my throat swelled. Went to the emergency room and they told me to stop taking the z pack. This was a week ago. But, I am still throwing up.

Is it possible to be throwing up for 10 because of a cold?

  • What is this song or what is similar music to it?

I found this song in a Toca Builders iOS App Trailer that popped up before one of my youtube videos. The user said it was just stock music. But, if you do happen to know it then please tell me. Can you please tell me the genre too? I don't listen to music like this, but would like to. Do you know any similar artists or songs?

  • Is the word daring a gerund in this sentence?

I have never seen the word "daring" used like this. Is this a gerund or something else. Please explain why. I am pretty bad at grammar and I am curious to understand it better. If you could give examples, that would be great.

    Here is the sentence

"Tabby’s name stood out, as did the creature’s particular daring, and I had the strange sense of already knowing that the poor thing was doomed to a gruesome and shocking end: hunted and murdered by a pack of wild cats, some pages later—by which time I was marvelling both at the various peculiarities of the book and at my unsettling ability to forget them."

And here is the article where it came from.

  • Is this semicolon used properly?

I am not that great at grammar and I cannot tell if this semicolon was used properly.

"In the 1830s, the English scientist and inventor Charles Wheatstone discovered why: the differences between the two images allow the brain to generate a sensation of depth."

The quote was taken from this article. I think it is in the 7th paragraph.

    www.bbc.com/future/story/20120719-awoken-from-a-2d-world/1

I just want to learn more about grammar and am curious. PLEASE explain why it is correct. Simply saying yes or no will not help me. Thanks :)

  • What is your advice on teaching the sight word "on"?

I am a student teacher and I have been working with one girl who can read the word "on". But when I asked her to spell it at a different center, when we were writing sentences, she had absolutely no clue how to spell it and sounding it out did not help her at all. I'm thinking that she doesn't get far enough to the letter "o" on the letter practice software. I think a book that focuses on the letter "o" might be helpful to learn the sounds of "o"

Do you have any advice for me on how to teach her the word on?

We have already been working on using the word on in a sentence for the past week. She knows what the word is when its in front of her. She just had no clue how to spell it when I asked her to twice at different times today.

  • Do kids enjoy listening to ambient music or chillstep?

I was just curious if children respond well to this sort of music. Do you listen to this music and have your own kids, brothers and sisters, or nieces and nephews listen to this as well? My mom used to always play Enya in her preschool classroom during nap time to relax the kids.

I was just curious because, other than Enya, I just mostly listened to mainstream stuff when I was growing up.

I would assume they would. But I would like to know when your kids listen to this music and how often you play it also.
