mud and sand only price?
think someone is scamming, the drywall is already hung, it just needs to be mudded and sanded, lets say a 12x12 room, is there anyway it could cost 1900.00, no painting involved either, floors are not done yet, no carpet so less mess, this price will include trim to be put up later after WE paint. this seems astronomical.
Thanks guys for the answers, alittle more info. for some reason the guys skim coated this room, its just a storage room off the garage. This lady who had this done didn't have any special requests on how smooth the finish should be. I didn't realize also that the room had already been taped and mudded and sanded. At the very least they may have had some touch up work to do. so could skim coating possibly cost 1900.00.

idahotrix, you are using 12 X 12 as the room dimensions but is that all or are there more rooms, doorways, windows, alcoves, closets and are all the walls and ceiling flat with no decorative arches, decorative coves, chair molding partway up the wall, etc?
It sounds overpriced for a 12 foot X 12 foot room with flat walls and ceilings and square corners where the drywall has been installed properly
If the room is 12 meters X 12 meters with flat walls and ceilings and square corners where the drywall has been installed properly then you may be getting a bargain.
Also, you have not indicated your approximate location. Labour and material prices vary from area to area and country to country.

1900 for a 12x12 room is WAY too high. I would be surprised if it someone charged you $500.
