How to glue fabric to hard plastic?

I have a game case that's hard plastic for my 3DS, but I feel like if I put the 3DS inside without a smooth surface it would scratch it on the sides. I never had this problem with my GBA SP because I had a case that's sorta... inbetween hard and soft plastic, shock resistant too. Anyway, a thin soft plastic would only protect from scratches, so the hard case seemed a better choice

I want to cut a piece of soft cloth or something to fit to size, and affix it to the bottom and sides of the case so it won't scratch when going in or out. What kind of glue would I use for this? And how would I go about it?

Thank you!

Update:

Hi, thank you both for answering I've been having trouble with this for weeks! Hah ha

Happy Dog, Would I glue the foam to the case, then glue the fabric to the foam? And if so, would that change the glue I should use to put fabric and foam together? Or still the same spray adhesive you both recommended? I assume the foam is for extra cushon and protection with the case.

Thank you!

I think that using a felt would work. Cut the felt to fit and then use spray adhesive on the felt (not the case) to apply it to your hard case. This should do the job.

Felt can be purchase in any fabric or hobby store.

    Hope this helps.

Whenever I have a glue question I use this site: http://thistothat.com/ I has you select the two types of material you want to glue, then recommends the best glue.

In this case, simple permanent spray adhesive would do. I'd look at a very thin foam in addition to fabric and you can also find that at the fabric store. There'a a type of fabric that I believe is called "headliner" that's used to replace car upholstery. That would also be good.

As far as fabric is concerned, the sky's the limit. You could select a nice polarfleece print, velvet, felt, cordouroy, any kind of knit fabric. You could also do a thin fur if there's room in the case! You may also be able to recycle something from your closet that you don't wear anymore.

    Best of luck.
