should I get an antibiotic?

I am going on my fourth day sick. I've been coughing up yellow-brown phlegm, have had increasing hoarseness (started out just minimal and has slowly gotten worse. today I can barely talk). I have minor nasal congestion and moderate chest congestion.

Is it worth it to go to the doctor and asking for antibiotic?

Side question: Would you advise for or against exercise (jogging)?

Sounds to me like you may have bronchitis. The yellow isn't that bad - when it changes from that to different colors it isn't so good. Green - that is really bad.

I would not exercise. I would go let a doctor listen to my lungs. If you know someone with a stethoscope or one of those devices that pregnant moms use to listen to their babies - you can use that to listen. If it sounds like wheezing or a percolating coffee machine - you got bronchitis or pneumonia. The later is obviously worse.

If you are coughing up any colored phlegm, you should go to the doctor. You likely have bronchitis and need an antibiotic to knock it out.

No jogging or intense exercising for not. Wait until you are feeling better.
