would this be a good first motorcycle for me?

I'm 6 foot 6 and 300 pounds I've never ridden a motorcycle before but I'm looking at a 1987 Honda Goldwing 1200. I know people say that they are heavy for first bikesbut I figured do to my size I could handle it what do you think?

I have to agree with Wiggysan on all three points he has made. But I will also add that you should also look at the BMW range of bikes, lighter, smoother and more ground clearance. They are exceptionally well made and have everything you could want on a touring bike, I have owned three, a 750, 1000 and a 1200 and especially on the 1200 regularly turned over 800 to 1000 miles in daylight in a days riding with nor aches or pains, but not really keeping to the speed limits.

    Goldwing ?

    First bike ? No.

Try asking for advice in the Street motorcycle section, its under Transport.

    Good luck.
