If the job description for sales associate and keyholder are EXACTLY the same, is it safe to assume I can apply for Keyholder?
A place I'm looking at apply for is hiring a keyholder and nothing else. I'm not really sure I qualify because I've never been a keyholder before. However I looked at the job description of a sales associate from their job openings in other cities and the job description was word for word the same as the keyholder. Is it safe to assume that I can apply to be a keyholder?

If you're qualified for the sales associate job, and you can demonstrate that you're responsible (by citing examples from past jobs or school performance) you should be fine to apply for the keyholder position.

Holding the keys does not require a degree. Someone has to put the keys in their pocket.
