Why is ferritic steel harder than low carbon steel?

I'm doing a project where I look at the microstructure of metals and their hardness. I've idenitified that I have a ferritic equiaxed grain structure with an average hardness higher than the low carbon steel. Can anyone explain any reason for this? Many Thanks

There are 4 ways to increase the strength of a metal. One of those is alloying.

Do you know that the other 3 are? One of them is unique because it allows us to increase the strength and the ductility at the same time.
