What is it like to be rich?

Hi,

So I'm studying a character for a film I'm in and she's extremely rich - she's a teenager who's never known struggle. Her family has flash cars, a grand home, a private chef, a personal masseuse, her own car at age 16 (bought and paid for by her parents of course), designer clothes and the list goes on.

I need someone to tell me (from experience only) how they feel being rich - what pros and cons do you experience? What kind of lifestyle you have? If you are rich or have a rich family, is there ever any kind of stress or worries in your household? How do you feel about people who have hardly any money? Do you consider yourself privileged? Do you have everything you could ask for (if not - what don't you have? and I'm not just talking physical possessions)? And are you happy? If you aren't happy, why?

I have a completely different socioeconomic background to my character - my family is under a lot of financial stress and I've never known luxury (not that I'm complaining). I really need to get a better grasp of what it truly feels like to be rich, so for people experienced with being rich themselves (or know someone very well who is really rich) I would really appreciate the preceding questions being answered.

Thanks! :)

Update:

Oh and if you could describe a little about the kind of daily routine you have that would be wonderful. :)

I actually know a family very well, and they’re like that, not as much though, but are definitely very well-rounded. Their house is very nice, they have nice cars, nice everything. The father (obviously) brings all the money in. The mother doesn’t do ****…she just shops and dresses up all the time.

The daughter’s the typical self-absorbed girl, from when she was a little kid up until now. She always got whatever the hell she wanted, from a new room makeover, to designer clothing, whatever. She wasn't much of a hard worker, and that’s another thing; rich kids rarely work hard. Since they have everything handed to them, they feel no need until they grow up and face the real world. It happened to her, and she is now at a point in her life where she will never ever be able to have that life again. Not even close to it! Her job isn’t too bad, but she most likely won’t be working full time, so she won’t even have that much money anyways. She actually buys fake, cheap designer bags now, so definitely a step down the ladder. Anyways, she’s a lot ruder than most girls, even most wealthy girls.

Okay, to answer all your questions:

What kind of lifestyle? Very lavish and handed-over. She was rude to her parents but she still got what she wanted and got away with way too much.

any kind of stress or worries in household? Her dad probably had all the worries for the job. But usually there is because most extremely wealthy people are business people, (75% of the nation’s richest people are business owners) and you have to keep that up.

How do you feel about people who have hardly any money? The whole family was beyond arrogant, except now the daughter’s getting a taste of what it’s like! I actually can’t even tell you what arrogance and rudeness the whole family had, it was disgusting.

Do you have everything you could ask for (if not - what don't you have? and I'm not just talking physical possessions)? She had literally everything. A nice car, expensive clothes, you know what I’m talking about.

And are you happy? If you aren't happy, why? She was very happy, except now she doesn’t live with her parents anymore, so she’s not at all anymore.

    Hope this helped!
