  • How to have the BEST 18th all on my own?

    Hi,

So in a few hours it's my 18th birthday - yay!! I just moved to england so I don't have any friends yet and my parents are in India at the moment, so I'm completely alone on my birthday. What incredibly exciting and fun things could I do to have the greatest day ever? If you're going to suggest london, what would I actually do there? And actually, I am going to london, so that may narrow it down. What great stuff is there to do in London?? Despite being all alone I'm kind of excited for my birthday!!

Thanks for any suggestions! :) x

  • To all the car-obsessed guys, what do you want as a gift?

    Hi,

So one of my best friends is turning 18 in a few days and I've left it quite late finding a gift for him, but one thing I know I'd love to involve is his love (obsession) with Ferraris/cars/F1 in general. For any car or specifically Ferrari obsessed guys out there, what kind of gift would you think is just TOTALLY awesome? Whether it be shoes, clothing, desk accessories, posters, frames etc. I'm a girl so I don't know what guys would really appreciate - hence I'm asking Yahoo answers this question. And I do have a bunch of ideas for presents already but I'd still really, really appreciate you letting me know your preferences. I'd also appreciate if you could tell me some of the things you definitely WOULD NOT want or care about receiving.

And if you can't think of anything car related, is there some other gift a girl wouldn't think of that you'd love?

    Thanks so much!

  • POLL: What does a week of meals look like for you?

This is for a survey. :)

I'm just wondering what a weeks worth of meals looks like for you. For example what kind of breakfasts, lunches and dinners would you tend to have on a standard week? And approximately how much is your weekly grocery bill?

I don't need to know every single meal, by the way, just a few examples.

Also, what's probably the most healthy and least healthy meal you might have over the week, and do you have it more than once?

    Thank you!

  • POLL: How much cleaning/tidying do you do around the house?

    Hi,

I'm just doing a survey which is ideally targeted toward teens aged 15-19 ish to see how much house work or how many chores you do around the house. I'd like to know how many hours a day/week you do cleaning for your parents AND is this for pocket money/allowance or are you just expected to do it in exchange for everything they provide for you? Also I'd like to know what exact chores you do do, such as cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, doing the dishes etc. Even if you just do the dishes once a week I'd like to know.

Also, do you think the amount of chores you're expected to do are fair based on how much you earn from it or if it's in exchange for living there?

I don't mind if adults answer this too but ONLY based on the chores they did as a teenager, not as an adult.

Thanks and have a great day!

  • What's the cost of public transport in Sydney?

I'm moving to Sydney in a couple of months and I'm already budget planning because I'm so excited. I'm just wondering approximately how much a 20-40 minute bus ride would typically cost? And what are the train fares like?

The main areas I'll be travelling to and from (all via public transport) are Alexandria, Sydney CBD and Bondi.

    Thanks!

  • Do you prefer pizza from the freezer or from Dominoes?

Do you prefer pizza that you buy at the supermarket (in the frozen section), that you cook in your own oven, or do you prefer takeout pizza from Dominoes, pizza hut etc?

  • What is going on with the attitude on Yahoo Answers?

I'm just wondering what is going on with the attitude on this site lately. Yeah I know this is a redundant question, but I feel like people are so RUDE. Like someone will ask a general question and almost ALL of the answers are sarcastic and make it out like the person asking the question is an idiot.

I feel like why do people find it necessary to be such sods; on their high horse, putting people down, swearing and calling them names? All it does is annoy, antagonise and upset other members.

If you don't have anything nice to say, why say anything at all people?

*I will probably get mean responses to this question - hit me with your best shot because I don't really care.*

  • What's your favorite thing about living in Sydney?

For Sydney locals, what is your personal favorite thing about living there? Your answer can be detailed or short, I don't mind. If you can't choose your very favorite, feel free to list a couple. Thanks. :)

  • Melbourne or Sydney?

    Hi,

So I'm moving to the Eastern States pretty soon and I have the option with what I'm doing to either move to Sydney or Melbourne. I have been to both and have experienced lots of aspects of both, but I don't really know what it's like to live in either. I think they actually both are quite different and have their plusses and minuses. But I'd like to hear from locals what is great about your given city.

When I say I'm moving to Sydney or Melbourne, I do mean I'd be moving basically to the city centre.

Please don't give me answers like "Sydney is great - move there" - I don't mean to sound rude, it's just that that won't help me at all. I am really just looking for detailed explanations for both. And don't bash either city please - I know they're both nice in their own way.

*Btw, Melbourne having colder weather does not phase me as I've lived in London and Utah for a number of years*

    Thanks everyone! :)

  • Need a quick way to make $200?

    Hi,

So today I got my first speeding fine (go figure) and it's going to be $200. At the moment I don't have a job as I've just finished high school (I've applied for about 50 thus far) and I have 28 days to pay the fine. So basically I'm asking for suggestions for things that would be quick money earners. My problem is that I have restricted transport at the moment and live in a rural area - oh and I can't do night shifts or anything, so babysitting probably wouldn't work.

Basically it's not the best situation but I need to pay my fine ASAP. All reasonable suggestions appreciated. :)

    Thanks!

P.S. My parents paying the fine is not an option, with good reason.

  • Moving to Sydney?

    Hi,

So I'm moving to Sydney quite soon and I just want advice/tips from locals or people who know a lot about Sydney to suggest some cool places to go - like your favourite restaurants (that maybe a lot of people don't even know about!), fun things to do on the weekends, the nicest areas (yeah I still haven't chosen where exactly I'm renting (it has to be near Sydney centre) etc. Just the best things to do, see and experience there would be great.

Please do NOT suggest stuff like luna park, harbour bridge, the Sydney opera house, bondi, coogee, Taronga zoo and so on. I know about all of the main places - I've been to Sydney quite a lot, I just have never lived there.

    Thanks!

  • URGENT: I need a two person script that is OUT THERE?

    Hi,

I'm going to an acting workshop this weekend and I need a two person (at least one female) script that is "out of my comfort zone". I have searched for hours and hours and gone to the library to look for scripts even and can't find a single one that is close to what I'm looking for. The scene is to be 40 seconds-1 minute duration and it has to be suited to older teenagers/young adults. If it helps, I hate drugs, smoking, drinking, crude jokes and swearing (seeing as the script has to be "out of my comfort zone"). If you would be able to help me with this I would really appreciate it - and please provide me with the script (or a link to a script) you are suggesting, as finding full plays online for free is redundant (and I wouldn't really pay for a whole play just to look at one scene that I may or may not like.) :)

    Thank you!

  • What is it like to be rich?

    Hi,

So I'm studying a character for a film I'm in and she's extremely rich - she's a teenager who's never known struggle. Her family has flash cars, a grand home, a private chef, a personal masseuse, her own car at age 16 (bought and paid for by her parents of course), designer clothes and the list goes on.

I need someone to tell me (from experience only) how they feel being rich - what pros and cons do you experience? What kind of lifestyle you have? If you are rich or have a rich family, is there ever any kind of stress or worries in your household? How do you feel about people who have hardly any money? Do you consider yourself privileged? Do you have everything you could ask for (if not - what don't you have? and I'm not just talking physical possessions)? And are you happy? If you aren't happy, why?

I have a completely different socioeconomic background to my character - my family is under a lot of financial stress and I've never known luxury (not that I'm complaining). I really need to get a better grasp of what it truly feels like to be rich, so for people experienced with being rich themselves (or know someone very well who is really rich) I would really appreciate the preceding questions being answered.

    Thanks! :)

  • Challenging female monologue?

    Hi,

So I know this question is asked on here time and time again - but I'm looking for a late teen-young adult female monologue (40 seconds-1 minute duration) that will take me out of my comfort zone. The thing is - I don't really know what my comfort zone is. So, I need to find a monologue with edge (and challenging doesn't have to mean crying or having a nervous breakdown - it could be challenging in ANY way). I don't have parameters except for the time restriction, so if you have any suggestions please fire away!

Just please suggest something with meaning and something that will be interesting.

Also, I'm really not just looking for website links - I already know a lot of monologue websites - I'm looking for specific monologue suggestions. Thanks so much - I appreciate it! :)

If this helps, I don't swear, do drugs, smoke and I never drink - so I guess these things are "out of my comfort zone"?

  • Where should I rehearse with other actors?

I'm currently studying part-time at two acting schools and obviously we have scripts that we need to prep, research, study and then rehearse with another actor or more. My question is (because our rehearsals are done outside of class time) where should I rehearse with my various scene partners? Right now I have about four different scene partners and I feel unsure if I'm just supposed to go to their house or where we should rehearse. I'm just a teenage girl and I would rather rehearse in more public places but it's not like you can yell, scream or cry manically in public (or do hardly any of your lines properly) without either getting stared at or in trouble in.

I trust my scene partners, but even for future circumstances where I might be unsure - what are some ideas for good (safe) places to rehearse with one or more actors?

And by the way, the studios where I take my classes is not an option. :) Also, please don't suggest my own home - I have a big family and wouldn't at all be able to rehearse properly with so many people around.

    Thanks so much! :)
