Which is more powerful Judo, or Taekwondo?
Can anyone explain the difference, and is it comparable? In any case, who would win?

Powerful? Martial arts is not powerful. It's not like you are trying to plow over your opponent and muscle them to the ground. If that were the case in any martial art style it would be totally useless for anybody who does not have a lot of physical strength. Ever watch a 70+ year old judo or Taek Won Do master? I doubt very much they have a lot of power but they do have incredible century old techniques that have been passed down for generations that the masters themselves honed for decades.
The media and sports especially UFC have made everybody believe that you have to have muscles and strength and stamina to be a good martial artist. To a certain extend in sports fighting that is correct as they put you in divisions with opponents of similar strength and then they limit the techniques to things of entertainment value to please the crowds so you will watch the matches. The only edge in such matches is often strength and stamina and a little bit of luck as well to decide the outcome.
As Con has stated correctly sport fighting is based on martial art for warfare. There is a difference. But Judo does not win against Taek Won Do any more as Taek Won Do will win over Judo. It all depends on the practitioner and how you train.

This question makes no sense at all. First Judo is one art. Taekwondo is a general term for at least 75 different styles of Korean martial arts. Second, martial arts are tools. They have no power. People using them are what makes them useful. Therefore people determine how powerful an art is. But then people vary greatly. some are good at something while others never will be.
So, asking which would win or which is more powerful is like asking which brand of mechanics tools is better, while forgetting that tools are only as good as the person using them.

tkd is more of a striking art, or at least most of them here in the usa and whats used in Olympic tkd. Where else judo is mainly grappling. Both are good, although I find judo a much easier access in the usa when it comes to non-mcdojos

Technically, Judo should be more powerful bc of the technique it focuses on.
But power does not come from the art itself. Power comes from the practitioner.

Judo would win because it is a grappling art. Both Taekwondo and Judo are sports based on martial arts designed for warfare. Taekwondo is Korean and Judo is Japanese.
