Guys, girls. I think I did something stupid?

Okay, so I've had a crush on this guy for ages, possibly a month and my goodness he is incredibly handsome and nice to talk to. However I know he doesn't like me cause I always have to start the conversation (I did that twice then stopped talking to him because I don't want to come off as clingy, even though I'm just somebody he knows). Any ways, yesterday I introduced him to my best friend cause he was telling me he has nobody to talk to and would like new friends and so I thought, hey my best friend is awesome talk to her.... He did and well told me that he really likes her and thinks she's beautiful. (kind of hurt hearing that) Anyways, so I'm messaging him and he stops replying so a little later I say "Talking to the new girl ay? ;) ) and says "Yeah haha, she's great"

That felt like a stab to my heart cause I feel like he basically dropped me. I know it's dumb if me to feel this way but I can't help it and it kind of hurts seeing him liking her pictures and statuses.
