Help with quitting weed?

Basically I want to quit smoking. I've smoked for about a year and a half almost 2 years now. I love it but had to tamper down to just smoking on weekends cause of college during The week. Now it's been a few months and since school is Monday-Thursday it keeps me busy away for smoking. But once the weekend hits I wana light up. How do I stop this. I just smoked this weekend and I want it to be my last for a while. A long while. Ive tried multiple times to stop but it's so hard on weekends especially when no hw or anything to do. Please any help guys. I'm a strong person and I know I have the will I just need some ideas. I wana become an occasional smoker from once to twice a week to once a month at most. And than go from there to completely quit. I like being sober and having energy to wake up early and have a full day. Weed makes that hard. ...I also have 3 roommates who smoke weed avidly for a religion lol. Do there's a hurdle. There also my best fiends. I know they'll be supportive. But moving out isn't an option.

The "addiction" to weed is more of an emotional attachment than anything. A lot of people who find themselves having to quit for the first time initially fear even dread it, only to fairly quickly find out that it is actually much easier than they had feared. I kid you not! There will just be the initial "separation anxiety".

I do not recommend the tapering off suggestion, since that will just prolong or even make the process more stressful. Believe me, you may be surprised to find that it is really just a psychological matter. It is so very unlike quitting any other drug. But, as people stated and you probably realize, hanging around the haze of other smokers could be a serious obstacle.

It's going to be pretty hard to quit smoking if you hang out with people who smoke on the daily. What I'd do is just try to keep myself busy, go jogging, go walk around at the mall, watch t.v., play games with your friends, go somewhere with your friends like hiking, fishing, etc. (but don't bring weed), go to the theaters, etc. Just try to stay as busy as you can to keep your mind off of smoking all day.

Its not an addictive drug theoretically but I can be addictive. You have to separate yourself from your room mates, coming home and smelling weed will make you want to smoke it so youre gonna have to change your habits. If they're truly supportive they might change where they smoke or how often. It all lies in what you do in the meantime.

I wish you luck, no drug is easy to quit

You have to just stop and stay away from those who do it. Do a body cleanse and replace the time with maybe jogging or working out at the gym. It's not an addictive, so you must mentally be ready and stick with it.
