Is Detective Conan close to its end?

I recently started watching the anime Detective Conan.

I dont mind watching the 700+ episodes but I wanted to know if it is atleast close to coming to an end?

For example,everyone knows that right now Naruto will end after the war is over and that means this War arc is the final arc(probably).

Is it the same for Detective Conan?

Its been running for 18 years!

If you were to compare Naruto(without the fillers) and Detective Conan,which do you think will end first?

    Ignore those guys. Gosho stated that he plans to retire when he's 52 and he's 50 atm. And the current arc is the Akai family arc and the next one will (probably) be the boss arc which is the finale. Gosho also said that he already has the ending planned so you can expect it to be soon. I'd recommend you to read the manga instead of watching the anime cos the anime has TONS of fillers and you'll probably end up skipping half of the episodes. I've watched every episode and read every chapter so trust me, I know.

    Naruto. I believe that Detective Conan will go on until the sun burns up.

    Gosho has an ending planed. He's going to end with 20 Movies

    100 book volumes and 1000 episodes.
