What would be the purpose of the Ostrich?

Like all things, to glorify God.

Is this some metaphor about how people are like ostriches burying their head in the sand, to avoid the truth? Because the truth is, ostriches don't actually do that. Anyone who believes they do needs to stop taking biology lessons from Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Do animals need to have people point out a purpose for their existence in order for them to justify their life?

Ostriches provide meat for hyenas, cheetahs, lions and leopards. The eggs were used by tribal people to bury water. The egg contents provide enough nutrition to feed a small village.

Like any animal the purpose of the Ostrich is to make little Ostriches.

Really big fried eggs, and huge drumsticks.

Of course, that would just be MY purpose for an ostrich.

An Ostrich is a big flightless bird. Why does it need to have a purpose, and why the crap is this in religion?

For ostrich racing and very large omelettes.

I once pondered the same thing about mosquitos. Seems all they are good for is annoying people and carrying disease. But, watch the fish jumpin' at dusk and you will see that mosquitos are fish food - like anything else.
