How did you know that you wanted to be a mother?

I'm a long ways off from making a decision like that in my life but its been on my mind lately. I'm just curious as to what made that decision for some of you.

For me the desire came when I was a bit older (around late 20's) and married. By then, I knew that I wanted to start a family and share our lives with child. Around this age, partying and going out gets old and you start to think about what it is that will truly fulfill your life and for me it was to have a child or children and spend my days taking care of them and watching them grow and doing the things with them that I did as a kid. 
I now have a 2 year old and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I wake up every day in the best mood b/c I get to see the little girl who has enriched my life in ways that she will never know. hope this helps. good luck!! (BTW, personally I believe that you will never regret a child that you have but you could regret never having one).
