If a man decides he doesn't want to marry you should you give the ring back?

He tells you to keep the ring because you earned it, but for a clear conscience should you?

Some married men do not wear a ring due to safety reasons where they work. However, this actual need for this affects only a very few. I am married and I never take my ring off. It is my opinion that men who don't wear a ring with out a legitimate safety reason are doing so in hopes of finding a woman on the side. I really don't see any other reason for it. Here's a suggestion for you. When you meet a person for the first time and are interested in them, simply ask them... Are you married? Follow that with ... Are you in a relationship with anyone right now? Now this doesn't mean they won't lie to you but at least you can narrow down the problems some. Hope this helps!

  • Ehh, by law you don't have to give it back but personally I think you should return it. I mean, the ring is symbolic but what's the point if you guys aren't together anymore?

If you break off the engagement you should give the ring back. If he breaks off the engagement you should keep the ring.

it is wiser to give the ring back but not that easily. make him realize that what he has lost at cost of gaining the ring back

I would not want the ring.

However if I had lost money while planning our wedding I would keep it to pay for what I lost since he broke things off.

He broke the engagement and you can keep it. If it were a family heirloom I would give it back though. If you break the engagement you have to give it back.
