Is my cat going to have her babies soon?
Okay so my cat is pregnant and I'm pretty sure she's due any day now. A few hours ago she started making weird sounds and wouldn't leave me or my sister alone. I put her in her nest and she was breathing heavy but it's like four hours later now and they still haven't come. Now she's sleeping in her nest and is still meowing at me when I'm not there with her. I've had pregnant cats before and they all wanted me there with them at the birth.
Right now my cat is lying in her nest practically asleep. She looks like she's breathing heavy still and I can see the kittens moving around in her. Is she starting to go into labour? How long does labour typically take? I think she has around 4 kittens.
It's like 2 am here so I can't really go to the vets.
So it's the next morning now and she still hasn't had them. She doesn't seem to be in pain but she's constantly meowing for me and wants me to sit by her nest with her all the time. But when she sits in her nest she starts to doze off. Her eyes and nose look wet. She's a pretty tiny cat, she's almost two years yet she looks like the size of a 6-8month old cat. Could her small size be prolonging the labour?

I'd say she is starting to go into labour and as with humans, I assume there is no specific time period. I would take her to the vet so they can ensure she is not having any complications and can deliver the kittens safely.

Have you been taking her temperature? A cat has a temperature drop within 24 hours of having kittens, for sure if it has been longer than that then she needs vet attention, vets have emergency services at night.
Yes her small size could be a problem, she probably would have been better off to be spayed.
Here is an article on what to expect.

It appears that she is going into labor. Check her make sure that she is not having any problems with her pregnancy. Most cats give birth within 63 days. If she shows obvious signs of distress or pain bring her to your Vet immediately. lf she's comfortable and slightly panting then it would appear that the delivery will be very soon.
