Can I use a quote as a title in an essay? How would I cite it?

I am writing a persuasive essay in MLA format. I want to use Elbert Hubbard's quote "Responsibility is the price of freedom" as my title. Is this even allowed, and if so, how would I cite it?

Yes of course. If you are using superscript, you simply add your first number to the quote. Alternatively use an asterisk to a footnote and then cite as normal there.

Many titles are quotations eg Far From the Madding Crowd, The Darling Buds of May, Brave New World etc.
