Finding Obituaries?

How could you find an Obituary for some one in the New York City area? I know the approximate date of death , just wonder what newspapers would be available. Death was about 1968-1970

Update:

I just found a notice of his death and that his wife's family was attending the funeral.

Go to the websites for the NYC newspapers and click on the obituary archives for deaths which occurred in the past. Good luck!!

You might check with the research librarian at your local library, The New York Times has an archives, but I am not familiar with all the local small papers that might have carried one., You might also try find a grave to pin down the date or order a copy of the death certificate.

Go to obits archive.com (no space). If you find it there's a small fee but then you can print it out.
