Ukraine has "light weapons" of their own. But you are right, tanks, Russian Military, and heavy duty weapons, would be no match for all the light weapons that Mcain wants to send.

Although I hope Russia wouldn't invade Ukraine. I believe that supplying the Ukrainian government with weapons is risky due to corruption running rampant around the country and the weapons ending up in Pro- Russian groups. If the U.S. does decide to supply arms to the Ukrainian military hopefully they would be useful in protecting Ukraine's territorial independence from Russian invasion.
