How Do you erase of wipe an entire computer?

So the computer im using is a sony vaio not sure the exact model but it has windows xp professional and its really slow, how do i wipe the entire c disc because i dont have the install cd or the product key, and if i go to my computer and right click hard drive c and click format it wont let me, PLEASE HELP!!!

    Contact Sony. If the computer came with XP installed, they should be able to get you a replacement disc or download of the operating system. In Windows 7, the product key is in Control Panel > System. You might look there for information that would help.

    FIRST OF ALL!

    Do NOT use XP anymore as its official support has ended,hackers can easily hack in your PC and seal personal stuff.

    and sorry that option is not in XP,you may try installing some software and wipe the drive(tuneup utilities like things.)

    Go to You Tube and search "Wipe Hard Drive XP" there you'll find several video's on how to do this
