how much faith does an atheist need?

You need a whole lot of faith to believe this!

    Yes.

Do you know what a narrator is? Especially for a documentary, they need a narrator to keep things more enjoyable. So they SIMPLIFY THINGS.

People like you really get on my nerves.

Let me explain something REAL quick. You think that's amazing? How about if the universe was always there, and then in a few days our solar system pops up out of nowhere. Doesn't that sound magical? Or like the Bible?

The Big Bang THEORY is a theory because in science a theory means it has been studied, it has been reviewed, it has been tested, it has been studied, reviewed, and tested some more, and it still works. It serves as an explaintion for why this happened. The universe. All the real evidence we find points towards the Big Bang theory as being true. I don't need faith to believe the Big Bang theory, becuase scientists have evidence.

Jump off a building and see if gravity works, which is just a theory. Somehow make sure that your children only procreate with the stupidest people on the planet and see if evolution takes hold. Go out in space for a year and see how the earth mvoes around the sun. These are all theories. And they have been tested to be correct.

Stop being a child the grow up.

you seem threatened that reality could be only slightly less mind-boggling than an infinite intelligent all-knowing omnipotent God or tales told in religious texts which created everything and simply put people in existance along with everything else. Powerful enough to create the universe and everything and everyone, but not powerful enough to be known other than by faith and hoping and actively looking and searching for signs of.

By the way, your Bible tells you "God created the universe" but no mention of HOW. Does that mean God didn't think highly enough of you to let you know those minor details?

also, it's an outdated video. that whole "from nothing" and "from nowhere" are increasingly being thought to be untrue as science is able to actually hypothesise about what came before the singularity and subsequent Big Bang. And I think you misunderstood something - the singularity was not nothing and was not nowhere. It was where it was which we know today as the universe, and the singularity contained the particles which gave rise to matter.

never mind. I understand. You're worried that as far as being real and understandable, the Big Bang seems a little out of your depth but when it comes to religion and faith it's meant to be so out-there and unbelievable and no-one of faith is expected to GENUINELY believe it so anything goes. It's all about being part of the crowd that says they believe that.

no faith, just evidence of which there is plenty of to believe in the Big Bang. Of course since we cant really prove it, its just a theory, although a very likely theory. Were not time traveleres, so we cant really go back and see what was before the Big Bang if it ever happened.

It takes alot more faith that a cranky old guy felt lonely after an eternity of being the only thing that ever existed and created man only to get pissed off when they ate an attractive fruit he himself put into their garden.

Who said athiests don't believe in magic ROFL

That's why I refer to modern cosmologists as mathemagicians.. They conjure all kinds of stuff that have never been observed in the real world out of nowhere based on nothing but faith in their mathematical model.

When you look at the real world, the Big Bang Model has failed to make any accurate predictions and is frequently surprised by observations and has to conjure stuff up to account for observations that contradict it.

For example both the Steady state and Plasma models of the unvierse predicted a Cosmic Background Radiation Steady State 3.5 degrees K.. Plasma model 3.7 degreeks K, the Big Bang 50 degrees K. The actual measured background radition.. 4 degrees K. You have two models other than than the Big Bang that were almost spot on but were ignorned.. Meanwhile quietly in the background the Big Bang mathemagicians changed their equations to match the observed data...

Observational and experimental evidence have demonstrated that the Doppler effect hypothesis of red shif it simply false - Yet that evidence is ignored. Halton Arps observations show hundreds of cases of objects with very different red shift values physically interacting with each other.. This is impossible if the BBM's interpretation of red shift is correct. Moreover it has been experimentally demonstrated that photons interacting with charged particles are red shifted. Space is filled with charged particles so all of the observed red shift can be easily accouted for without the need for the Big Bang.

The recently observed 'gravity wave' is actually more consistent with and a prediction of the plasma model of the universe. The twisting lines are completely in agreement with magnetic fields and magnetic fields can only be explained as an electrical phenomena (as opposed to a gravitational phenomena).

The simple fact is none of the evidence commonly cited for the big bang is uniquely probative of the Big Bang (that is to say it is equally or more consistent with other models). Other models have more explanatory power than the Big Bang. Additionally the sheer number of observations that contradict logical predictions of the Big Bang continues to grow without being adequatly answered.

The Big Bang is an object lession in why math is an invalid driver of physics. In legitimate physics - math is used to describe was is observed and so is subserviant to the physics. In the Big Bant, the physics is subservient to the math - this amounts to having the cart before the horse and is the reason the Big Bang is bad science.

These specific evidences challenging the Big Bang were posted largely for the benefit of Dreamstuff Entity - asking for in a later question. Like so many atheists, she blocks anybody who can provide an intelligent response and so short circuit her propoganda.

    Again with the selective semantics.

Michio and Lawrence had much more to explain, but the video maker gave up early.

It is not atheists fault you are so stubborn.

LOL okay, cause a fairy in the sky -- from nowhere, mind you -- poofing everything into existance, including talking snakes and Jewish zombies, is soooooooo much more believable.

    Yeah, uhuh.

You're mistaken. Atheists don't believe in god(s), nothing more nothing less. Faith is putting your trust in something that isn't proven as being true. Denying an unfounded claim doesn't require any faith.

I think you confuse the word "wonder" with faith.

I don't believe I'm going to watch any video an idiot like you posts.

    Zero.
