Why would cause my insulin pen needles not to inject under the skin of my stomach?

I am Type II diabetic and am using insulin in pen form several times a day. There are areas on my stomach where the needles will go in, but then will refuse to inject the insulin, no matter how hard I push the button. Any thoughts on this?

I do have a lot of scar tissue on my stomach and abdomen from surgeries. Could that be causing resistance to the needle?

Or are the needles getting clogged somehow?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, some of those pen needles do get clogged and won't allow injection. If that happens, get another and try it. I have had both the syringes and the pen needles be clogged.

Yes, scar tissue does not allow for the needle to penetrate. Choose a different site. And if it stings, choose still another site! I refuse to have any pain at all if I can prevent it.

have you tried the new BD Nano needles? they are super short and 32g which is about hair fine and slides into the skin straight on to the fatty tissue between the skin and the muscle. Same cost as the others but only brand name so far.

Yes, scar tissues are harder to inject through. Also, if you inject into the same area frequently fatty tissue would build up and harden there, it's called Lipohypertrophy. You're supposed to rotate your injection sites. Smart phone apps like "My Diabetes" for Android phones help you with the rotation,

High blood levels of glucose can cause several problems, including frequent urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue, weight loss, and blurry vision. However, because type 2 diabetes develops slowly, some people with high blood sugar experience no symptoms at all. How to treat diabetes naturally https://tr.im/DNhh9

    Symptoms of type 1 diabetes:

    Increased thirst

    Increased urination

Weight loss in spite of increased appetite

    Fatigue

    Nausea

    Vomiting

Patients with type 1 diabetes usually develop symptoms over a short period of time, and the condition is often diagnosed in an emergency setting.

    Symptoms of type 2 diabetes:

    Increased thirst

    Increased urination

    Increased appetite

    Fatigue

    Blurred vision

    Slow-healing infections

    Impotence in men

If you think you have diabetes i think you should have a checkup and speak with your doctor just in case.
