Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Yahoo has just suspended my access to a mailing list because of "excessive bounces," whatever that means.?

I can't even get in touch with customer care to complain; their phone support line doesn't cover yahoo mail, and when I try for email support the only option they give is to ask the community. Has anyone heard about this problem and know how to solve it? Or does anyone know how to actually talk to or email someone at customer care? A description of the problem is at http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/ietf/current/... .

You can find me at margret.rosenberg@yahoo.com

Update:

Got it. This is the contact page for emailing Yahoo about problems in Yahoo Mail: https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?page=conta...

Whether they'll fix the problem is another question entirely.

This is related to Yahoo's DMARC policy which was put in place to combat the practice of "spoofing" email addresses. That's where the sender pretends they've sent an email from an address and our server, but it actually is coming from somewhere else entirely, and as you can imagine it's a major security issue.

For more on what DMARC is and how you can avoid having legitimate emails blocked by it, please have a look at this Yahoo Help article.

Depends on how badly you violated the rules and which rules. I got to keep my email and addressbook. I didn't have a Yahoo page (or at least I don't think I did) but a friend who was joking around like the "What Should I Do Retard" and asking silly questions lost EVERYTHING in November 2006 and never got any of it back.
