  • Adolescent feline behavior?

I have a problem, guys. Jasmine is 2&1/2 years old, with kitten rambunctiousness in an adult-sized body. She likes to use my bed as a sort of trampoline (like one of those small ones gymnasts use to launch themselves for a vault) to get to the glass french doors in the bedroom. Unfortunately, this morning she did it when I was sleeping, and the spot where she touched down was my face. All claws were extended.

Fortunately, the scratch has been bleeding profusely, so I'm not worried about infection, and it's not deep enough to require stitches or a bandage (and I've no idea how to effectively bandage the tip of my nose), but I'm not exactly happy about this.

The two most obvious solutions -- banning her from the bedroom when I'm in bed, and moving the bed, are, unfortunately, both impossible. I do clip her claws fairly regularly, but not just before bed every day. A behavioral solution would be ideal, but I have no idea how to break her of this habit. Despite my screaming immediately (duh), she seems to be unaware that she did anything to me.

    Any ideas?

  • Cat products from China. Lead danger?

I just got a scratching post with a platform at the top, and a cat muzzle by mail order. Both say "Made in China." How can I tell whether there is lead in these products? And, more importantly, what can I do to protect my cat from it?

Obviously, I'll wash the cat muzzle before using it, but I'm not sure that that's enough. And my only guess on the scratching post is getting some kind of soft cat bed and nailing it to the platform on the top. This would also give Jasmine a bit of added protection against rolling off of the platform, and make it more comfortable for her, but what about the sisal the post is wrapped with? Might it have lead in it?

  • Please help me choose a denture adhesive.?

I'm going in next week to have all my teeth removed and get dentures. Obviously I'll need a good adhesive, but I don't know which ones will work best for me, and I'm having trouble finding the information online.

Obviously it needs to be zinc-free. Additionally, I'm very leery of both aspartame and sucralose (DON'T tell me how safe they are; I've read the studies, and I'm not convinced), and I absolutely HATE the taste of mint and of saccharine. And, since these are entirely new, and it will take time for things to heal and swelling to go down, it needs to fill gaps.

And the sooner I can get an answer, the better the chance that I'll be able to get what I need by the time I need it.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What is a GOOD USB Sound Card for Dell Inspiron 15 with Windows 7 Professional?

This computer has no headphone jack or microphone jack at all, just 4 USB ports and an HDMI port. I also have a whole lot of very old audio cassette tapes that I need rip to .mp3s, a stereo microphone, and a very nice pair of Klepsch earphones, all of which I want to use with it. I'm short of money, but I want to buy a quality product.

I've spoken with someone knowledgeable, and I need a sound card with three jacks -- stereo line in, stereo microphone, and stereo headphone. But I don't know how to evaluate the quality of the sound cards that are available, and my expert friend has a lot more money and only knows about the REALLY hi-end stuff.

My budget may run as high as US$60. I don't insist on buying a new device from the manufacturer, but if I'm buying on eBay or Amazon I need to be sure that the seller is experienced and has a good reputation.

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give me on this.

  • Yahoo has just suspended my access to a mailing list because of "excessive bounces," whatever that means.?

I can't even get in touch with customer care to complain; their phone support line doesn't cover yahoo mail, and when I try for email support the only option they give is to ask the community. Has anyone heard about this problem and know how to solve it? Or does anyone know how to actually talk to or email someone at customer care? A description of the problem is at http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/ietf/current/... .

  • How do I avoid having URLs truncated by Yahoo Answers.?

Okay, so I'm at level one, and I can't insert a hyperlink. I get that. But when I try to put in a URL for copying and pasting, Yahoo Answers automatically truncates it, which kind of makes it useless. How do I keep this from happening? And how can I get past level one if I have to keep losing points just to find out how to make this work?

  • Retrieving a good theme in Yahoo Mail?

I had one that I really liked. It was a picture of fireworks on Bastille Day. Then, when I was clicking on some other themes to see how they looked, it disappeared and no longer appears in the list of available themes. Does anyone know how I can get this one back?

  • Clicking on the "send feedback" link does nothing. How do I actually send feedback to Yahoo mail?

Yahoo is doing something that makes using it for email almost impossible on occasion. I was trying to respond to an email yesterday, when an acquaintance came online. Neither he nor I had requested a chat, but yahoo popped up a chat request box that I couldn't get rid of. Not even clicking on the x in the top right corner would make it go away. As soon as I began typing, it would automatically pop up and the characters I was typing would go into the chat request box rather than the email I was trying to write.

This is no way to run an email application, and Yahoo needs to know about it, but I can't find any way to actually send them feedback, despite the existence of a "Send feedback" button.

    Any ideas, anybody?
