Spectrophotometric Assay Question?

There's a blank on on of my university slides and I cannot work out the answer or how to find said answer beyond checking a textbook however I am not in town for my university library so I don't have access to the book.

The slides are on enzyme assays which I'm currently making notes on.

EXAMPLE -

The hydrolase -glucosidase can be measured using artificial substrate.

p-nitrophenyl-(ALPHA)-D-glucose --> ?

Would the absorbance increase or decrease with time ?

Why?

--------------------------------------------

I'm sure I could draw conclusions if I understood what was meant by "p-nitrophenyl-(ALPHA)-D-glucose --> ?" but I don't understand...

Update:

as p-nitrophenol absorbs at 404 nm

p-nitrophenyl-X p-nitrophenol + X

    The enzyme hydrolyzes the linkage between glucose and p-nitrophenol, forming those two products. Since you form p-nitrophenol, the absorbance will increase over time.
