difference between "different" and "better"?

so what is the difference between the two? I know what they mean and how they are different, but I'd like to read other people's inputs. This is central to my paper for English, which is "understanding not just differently, but better through refinement"

Agains, your views would be great!

Something is different whether it is only a little or completely unlike something else. Not only are your two cats different breeds, but they are also different from your pet tiger.

Often followed by the word than or from, different describes something that contrasts with, or differs from, something else. With roots in the Latin differre, meaning “to set apart,” different can also describe something that belongs in a whole other category. More recently, the word has picked up an additional sense — for something that is special or unique, in an extraordinary or sometimes negative way. That tie your dad has with the different kinds of peppers on it is definitely... different.

Something better is improved — like when a more advanced computer comes out, or you feel better after a cold.

When we talk about things being better, we're comparing in a favorable way. A great movie is better than a good or awful movie. With practice, you will get better at a sport or a subject like math. Doctors help patients feel better, and mechanics make a car run better. If 51% or more of the people voted for you, then you had the support of better than half the people. When things are getting better, they're improving.

Differently to have an opposite view or opinion compared to others I.e. seeing things from an unusual or another perspective whereas better is to feel well again or not feeling as sick, improving e.g. sitting a test and getting a grade B then sitting a test on the same topic two weeks later and getting a grade A shows that person has improved so their performance is better
