U.S. History - One question!?

    • Development of the counterculture - Although the hippie movement died out, much of their beliefs have become the norm. e.g. Environmentalism, rise in "spirituality," dislike of the govt., and acceptance of marijuana.

    • Vietnam War - Vietnam is the prototype of American intervention gone wrong. Caused massive protests, caused Lindan Johnson not to succeed a second term, and help mobilize the counterculture.

    • Cuban Missile Crisis - It's the closest America has ever came to nuclear war. Since then, we haven't threatened nations with a nuclear option, or escalated conflict with any other nuclear power.
