PC won't boot?
Further to my problem below:
I can boot up an Ubuntu 12.04 installer DVD only with my hard disks removed. But if the HD is attached, it will fail to load.
I also tried Windows XP setup CD, it will fail to load (error message missing or unable to load certain file, which varies each time). Peculiarly, even with hard disks removed, the setup CD won't load.
What's the problem with my PC?

That's because the partition on the HDD is corrupted and you need to delete -replace -format the partition BEFORE you can install an OS on it and ALL that before you can use it!
Standard todo list for installing an OS.

Try with any other hard disk. .. if works.... your disk corrupted. ... if not works.. try to reinstall your bois configuration. .....and check your current boot settings tooo...good luck. ..
