How to boost my confidence?
This is a serious question.
I want to know if there's any things I can do to boost my confidence. I feel like it's really starting to and going to continue to negatively affect me in life.
I'm a junior in high school and I get pretty good grades and all, but I'm not very confident. This question arose after I got denied from this Peer Ed program at my school. I'm not really "down" or sad about the situation, I just learned that the reason behind my rejection was that I don't come off as confident or seem confident in myself.
I would definitely agree with this reasoning. I don't know why, but I never feel confident in myself in the things I do or things I say. It's weird. This will definitely hurt me in the future with job interviews, relationships, or really anything I do.
Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do? I want to try to build my confidence and develop my character more.
All responses are greatly appreciated.

Confidence is your key to a successful life. Confidence is not merely a term, but it is a set of beliefs that you have in yourself. It determines how you perceive yourself and what you think you are capable of.
One of the basic reasons why so many people are under-confident is that they have gone through many negative things and disappointments in their life. Therefore, they hardly believe in themselves anymore. Fortunately, the solution to regain confidence is pretty simple, but may be difficult to implement. You just have to replace these negative beliefs with positive affirmations; you have to change your mind-set. This is a sort of reprogramming of your mind at both conscious and subconscious levels.
If done correctly, the method of positive affirmations is one of the most powerful and practical methods ever devised. Believe me; this will do wonders to your self-esteem and your overall confidence. This method is most effective if performed at night just before you hit your bed as it has been proven that our mind is most receptive at these times. All you need to do is repeat positive affirmations for 7 to 10 min every night.
As you keep on doing this for a few days, it will become a habit, and within a short time, you will start noticing positive and better things happening in your life.

I took some school trips to Washington DC in high school, and they were great confidence building trips.........being on your own, sort of, and Learning about the Gov't and meeting other kids from all over the country..............they were great Learning experiences, and helped me grow and come into my own.
Look into that, if your school has any such thing.

Try doing public speaking competitions or get into debates. Thats what I done. I used to be a shy wimp and now I have that much confidence, sometimes I think I am cocky aha. Try it and the results will be clear. The only way to practice is to actually do it!
