What is the New 52? (DC Comics)?
Ok well I know it's a relaunch of all of DC's characters and storyline a but what I want to know is, is it canon? If it is, does that mean all the other comics that came before are non canon/didn't really happen? Or is the new 52 an alternate universe kind of like what marvel did with their ultimate series? Please answer with detail. I appreciate it, thanks!

The New 52 is indeed a relaunch of the entire DC comic line. Is it canon? Yes! It's the one and only canon universe. Is everything that happened before the relaunch canon? Yes and no. What happened is that the entire universe was rebooted at the end of the Flashpoint storyline. Some things remained canon (origins, a lot of the Batman and Green Lantern stuff, as well as some major events), while others were either erased (anything involving Wally West, Cassandra Cain, the crisis') or rebooted (Superboy, Justice League, etc...). It's not like Ultimate universe since they also had the 616 universe. This is a total reboot.
