Do You Believe Everything That Dies Passes Its Energy Back Into The Earth Or Universe?

If you believe in the process in which energy from a dying human or animal is supposed to be sent or given back to the earth or universe, please try to explain this process more thoroughly if you know what you're talking about.I'm looking for a true, honest, researched answer and not a wise a** that wants to waste my time posting a stupid or sarcastic answer. Thanks

Sort of. Dying in and of itself doesn't pass energy back to the earth. Our consciousness is the result of the physical structure and chemical activity of the brain. In other words, the mind is what the brain does... and when the brain stops doing stuff, the mind ceases to exist. Nothing actually goes anywhere.

If you want an analogy, the body and brain are like the engine of a car - turn it off, and it stops running, but the actual matter and energy stored inside it doesn't go anywhere. Even if you smash it to bits, the energy stored within the molecules of gasoline, and the matter in the engine don't change. You could melt down the remains and make it into a new engine, or put the gas into a different engine, but the original would still be gone.

That doesn't mean that our energy and mass don't return to the earth, though. Our bodies are still made up of matter, and there is still lots of energy trapped within that matter. Other organisms come along and break down our bodies for food, in the same way that we eat plants and meat. These organisms grow and reproduce, and get eaten by other organisms, and that matter and energy re-enters the cycle.

Yes, it's a feature of entropy.

The laws of thermodynamics tell us that eventually the entire

universe will be dead and silent.

Don't worry though. It is going to take longer than you can even imagine for that to happen.

Creationists are going go into high octane denial over this truth, I'm sure.

When you die, all the particles and matter that were once you decompose and are absorbed back into the ground, where they end up in someone's drinking water 400 years later...

    Yes it does.

    The process is called decomposition.

Common word you can look up.

    Plants do it too.

As a baby grows, animal, fish, bird, human, or even plants, they take Energy from the ground, in the form of minerals, and stuff. And this then helps them form whatever body type they are. Once this body dies, it then decomposes, returns to the Earth, and then becomes food (energy) for other things.

Ashes from burnt trees, such as after a forest fire, help nourish the plants closer to the ground and with the trees almost gone, sunlight can then reach these plants, and so they flourish. So, forest fires are good for Nature, and many times are allowed to burn, as long as no humans or animals are endangered.

We come from the Earth, and we return to it. That is basically how it works.

As for the Universe, all atoms came from stars at one time, so some atoms within us are probably some that were from stars also. The Earth also is composed of Atoms from stars, but will remain whole until it decays, or is hit by another planet or something, causing it to go back into space in small pieces. But in the case of us on Earth, we would have to become part of the Earth and then the Earth would have to disintegrate completely and become part of the Universe again, as atoms. Until then, we will remain on Earth, as atoms. But we did all come from the stars, which were the first formed objects. Once they blew up, their atoms scattered and we have part of those atoms.

Take cellular energy for a second. It's ATP, and we create ATP by breaking down nutrients. So a plant can take up nutrients, generate energy, which is ATP. When we break down food in our system, say plants or animals, there's an intricate process (which I'd rather not bore you with…) where we break down glucose into ATP.

That's just one example. Remember, energy is neither created or destroyed, just transformed!

It does; conservation of mass. You're just rearranged in a way that doesn't allow you to function LOL.

You don't know what energy is, else you wouldn't be asking this question. And what's with all the capitalization? Just curious.

Yes. When animals/plants die, they are fed on by decomposers, who change the organic bonds into a form of energy that they use, much the same as we change the energy from meat / vegetables into energy for us to use.
