Are teachers allowed to force religion on me?
I go to a public school, no it is not bible school, ccd, etc. it's just a regular public school. My situation was that my friend threw a book at me and i say "Jesus Christ" out of habit because it obviously hurt and scared me. Then my teacher looks over and starts yelling at me and my friend's general direction. But she doesnt yell at us for fooling around, she yelled at ME for saying "Jesus Christ". I don't have any problem with God, Jesus, etc. But im probably the least religious person. She yelled at me "Excuse me! You NEVER say that unless you're praying! You need Jesus!" I argued that I just said it out of habit, but she cant say that "I need Jesus" i have full respect for all religion, honestly, but I was extremely offended because her assistant suddenly pulls me out of class and asks me if im a Satanist because i wear black and i listen to "the screamy music" as she says. Obviously not, Im catholic myself. I do not mean any disrespect, but are my teachers really allowed to do this in public school?

She has the right to yell at you for saying things and language that the school does not allow. And I don't believe she was forcing religion on you she was simply offering her feelings on the matter. Forcing religion on you, would be having you read pages from the bible and turn in a report on it at the end of the week.
I'm catholic too, but my parents sent me to catholic school instead of public.

Okay, I am willing to give both you and the teacher a pass. You should not be exclaiming, "Jesus Christ!" at school, because it is very offensive to people whose beliefs include honoring that name. But you did it because you were startled and upset and said it before you regained composure.
Your teacher should not be yelling, "NEVER say that unless you are praying! You need Jesus!" because it is offensive to those with different beliefs and also against policies based on the Bill of Rights. But she did it because she was startled and shocked by your words, and she did it before she regained composure.
So how about the two of you call it even?
The assistant was totally out of line.

nope they are not. One call to the freedom from religion foundation did the trick for me after a teacher showed my son (and the whole class) a religious sermon on youtube. She is not teaching any more. At least not in a public school.
But what your teacher did is not as serious.

You - a student- introduced the topic! The teacher has the option to engage or not engage once the student introduces it!

This is America. You have the freedom do believe in what you want. Teachers are supposed to be teaching, not preaching. Unless you're going to a religious school then you don't have to listen to their religious views. It's the same with politics: none of their business what your political views are.

You are dealing with school staff who are hung up on old-fashioned thinking.
They consider that you blasphemed Christ.
Of course you had no such intention. You were just cursing randomly.
You were wrong to swear at all in a Catholic school. It was not much different than swearing in church.
The bottom line is that they have authority over you, and you have to try
to keep them happy, whether you think it's fair or not. Nobody said
that schools have to be fair and frequently, they are not. Accept that and move on.

She crossed the line with her words but it's not worth worrying over this late in the school year. If you did want to do anything you'd need your parents to take your side. What are the chances of that? Do ya see? You are in a no win situation so let it go.

She's not allowed to do that, but way too many teachers ignore the law and do what they want, often with the full support of the administration. Christians often feel that they shouldn't have to obey any laws they don't like.

Your not even allowed to talk about religion in my school. And teachers have no right to force or evangelize religion on someone, its very rude and disrespectful, they should know that as teachers.
