What would a person who does not believe there are evil entities be called, if one who does not believe in gods is called an "atheist?"?

[if one who doesn't believe in gods is called an "Atheist?"]

I believe there is a supreme creator of some sort, but not that there are evil beings. No Devil, no Satan, no Demons etc.

I think that the concept of "Evil" and "Satan" came from people not understanding why people act in harmful ways towards each other.

"There must be an entity that controls that bad behavior" they might have said, "because people would not naturally do bad things." (Maybe.)

My understanding is that selfish, destructive behaviors are natural to the animal kingdom, and they are carried in the genes. They got there because In order to SURVIVE, many species of animals have had to destroy and eat other animals, or ferociously defend their territory, or injure mating competitors. Those sorts of behaviors are not learned within an animal's lifetime, they come naturally when the time is right. (e.g. Ever watch a mother cat care for her kittens?) …they are genetically carried behaviors that have evolved & have been passed down through the genes.

So, even though mankind now doesn't NEED for our behavior to be inherited in our genes, because we have teaching and learning, we still carry much of those inherited animal behaviors. And without forethought, we just go ahead and act on those impulses.

People never knew about genetics, so they said "The Devil made me do it" etc.

I'm someone who does not believe in evil entities. Can anyone think of a good label for a person who believes this?

an a-evil-ist? There actually are quite a few aevilists around, but that does not really jive so well with the Christian Bible.

Although some Christians and others need to believe that "evil" or what makes them endangered or even inconvenienced or uncomfortable is caused by a supernatural being instead of their own selfishness, cruelty, apathy, and/or ignorance, or simple reality of life, most other people believe that people are responsible for what is good and what is harmful and they don't have to put a label on it.

Hello wendalore, already many times we have come across the term evil defined to be disorderliness. Disorderliness is unavoidable in the course of action and so it has to be kept under control by orderliness i.e holy.

How then do you account for all the evil in the world. Do you think that came from God? No, men do evil under the influence of evil entities.
