It makes me laugh when white men say they want to scrap AA initiatives. Discrimination is still rife DESPITE AA, so getting rid of it would leave people who face routine discrimination even more vulnerable than they currently are.

One of our more outspoken regulars has said of AA: The answer is less discrimination, not more. In other words AA contributes to more discrimination....

Recent studies out of the US have shown that it still holds high levels of discrimination in hiring practices. So, by that logic we need more AA, not less.

People who are against AA on this forum are only against it because feminists are for it. So they would happily sacrifice minority men in order to 'get back at feminists'. Shows how selfish they are.

Among many...while Obama has recently promised "more of the same" when talking about limiting the number of males in STEM fields even though females already make a vast majority of those who enroll college, the EU is trying to force PRIVATE firms to have at least 40% female representation on corporate boards of face being de-listed from the stock exchanges.

Every individual should have the same rights and protections. Being privileged and advantaged over someone else and enshrine it into law is not a right, only the pathologically selfish would think they're entitled to such privileges and would dare to call it a right.

Feminist support of legalized discrimination aka affirmative action is a matter of public record. All the largest feminist organization throughout the Western World and their leaders openly support it, and their views can be assumed to be representative of the entire movement.

who is pushing for gender quotas in STEM subjects in colleges ? who is pushing for gender quotas in boardrooms in FTSE companies ? who calls for all-female shortlists in politics ?

Because they're spiteful

Because leading feminist organizations have strongly lobbied for affirmative action to actively advantage women over men. Originally, AA was about protecting minorities and had nothing to do with women.
