I have three days to prepare for a mile help?
On Wednesday( in three days) is my final mile test for P.E. My last time was 6:12, my best is 6:03. My original goal was to get 5:48, our MS record, but I don't think I can get there in one go. I'd be satisfied with just under six minutes. Can anyone tell me how to prepare for this? What should I eat the day before, what I should do in these three days, how should I run, and if I should take strides? In basketball my coach tells me I should have a straight body when I run and my chest up and take good strides( for jumping) but I remember like two years ago I was told I should have my body bent forward a little to run faster. Would taking long strides make me faster or slower? Thanks

Eat lots of carbs like pasta the night before. It helps. Dont burn yourself out on the first lap. By that Im saying dont go all out or you'll use up all your energy. BUT dont go too slow either!
Today:
Lowerbody weight training
A mile or more
6 100m strides
Stretch
Get enough sleep
Tomorrow:
Upperbody weight training
Core exercises
8 100m strides
Practice your mile or do more than a mile
Stretch
Get enough sleep
Tuesday:
Carb up. Spaghetti is great!
Dont workout haha
Get enough sleep
Avoid too much sugar and candy. Drink lots of water during those 3 days. Make sure you eat a good breakfast. Long strides will make you faster BUT your feet need to hit the ground quick so youre not spending much time in the air. Steps make you move forward. Use your arms too. Im not good with explaining things lol but remember, go all out the last 100m. You can do it! Good luck. Show 'em what youve got. Do your best
