  • Why are the Bulls' F/O so interested and willing to give Fred Hoiberg the coaching job?

I mean if you look at it, firing Thibs at first glance seemed completely nuts and dumb to most but if you dig deeper you could tell it makes sense....Thibs was a great coach but was too stubborn and would not lead a team to a championship overall. Despite his capabilities to turn the Bulls around numerous times the past years without Rose. But Fred Hoiberg of all people...seems like the F/O just knows him really well with the Iowa connection between him and Forman...or they just want a cheap guy that they can control....or perhaps just dumb? Nothing against Hoiberg but to call up a college coach after firing probably one of the best coaches in the NBA as your first priority for the job is just nuts to me.

  • Working out and not sore yet?

So i'm 14,5'7'', 125, I'm going to be playing for my high school's freshmen basketball team. I started doing weights with them on Monday and I went today as well. We lifted, and for some reason after we lifted, I wasn't very sore until the next day, and they were in some odd spots. We did bench presses, front squats, shoulder presses, pull ups and chin ups, all around 3x8-10. Then we did a circuit of lunges with overhead plates, jump squats, kettlebell swings, dumbbell bent-over rows, and med ball slams 3 times. I felt sore in the area underneath my armpits extending slightly into my triceps, and the opposite of my elbow, the connecting area of the forearm and the biceps. My chest was not very sore, and my legs were a little stiff but not extremely sore. After the workout I definitely felt exhausted but I didn't really feel my muscles. Am I doing something wrong? Not enough weight (I think the barbells we used without plates on are around 40 or 45 pounds), improper form, not trying hard enough, too much weight, etc.? I really don't know. But I was really sore in that elbow-ish area in between the forearms and biceps, but my biceps were not very sore themselves. Is this natural, and something that happens at first?

  • How to fix this Bluestacks error?

I've downloaded Bluestacks to try and play Clash of Clans on my computer as well since I'm usually on that instead of my phone. However whenever I download it it just gives me a blue screen and says downloading game data. From the video tutorials I see, when it is installing, the installation window is outlined purple, and when Bluestack launches it has a black screen and the "stack" of cards moves...but mine does not? Can someone help me figure this out? I have uninstalled and reinstalled this multiple times and from multiple sources. I attached a link below which is a screenshot of what my current Bluestacks screen looks like.

  • Making up for using light weights?

I'm doing an arm workout at home with two 10 lb. dumbbells. I'm 14, 5'7'', and 126 lb. I'm trying to gain strength and weight for basketball, many of my school's older players are obviously stronger and bigger than me, I have trouble guarding them. I'm confident enough to try and challenge them. I'm starting to squeeze my way into weights, a lot of my growth has already gone on. Many sites i've searched have told me just to do more reps with light weights as opposed to heavier weights with low reps. However I truly believe this only makes the muscle more adapt to going for longer periods of time; increasing muscle ENDURANCE not strength. How can I make up for this?

  • Ab Workout for a Basketball Player?

I am trying to get a good core to stabilize my movements in basketball, like any other sport the core is one of the most important muscle groups to train to get balance. Could anyone provide me a good 30 minute or so core workout I can do at home? I have tried P90X Ab Ripper X and I am going to do that tomorrow, I've tried some other exercises and routines but I want a solid complete workout. I am going to continue with P90X Ab Ripper X for a while and see the results but I want an alternative in case it does not work.

  • I have three days to prepare for a mile help?

On Wednesday( in three days) is my final mile test for P.E. My last time was 6:12, my best is 6:03. My original goal was to get 5:48, our MS record, but I don't think I can get there in one go. I'd be satisfied with just under six minutes. Can anyone tell me how to prepare for this? What should I eat the day before, what I should do in these three days, how should I run, and if I should take strides? In basketball my coach tells me I should have a straight body when I run and my chest up and take good strides( for jumping) but I remember like two years ago I was told I should have my body bent forward a little to run faster. Would taking long strides make me faster or slower? Thanks

  • Backing Down in Basketball Using the shoulder?

What is the rule for this? Sometimes I have seen post players back down in the post and use the shoulder. Some coaches will say it's making good contact and using strength and praise, but some will say it's a foul and cheap shot. It's controversial. Does it involve the dribble? I need to know because when I get into the post sometimes and try to ward off bigs by backing down(I'm not exactly strong but I can surprise some bigs for my skinny size) some people will call it a foul.

  • What did Karl Malone whisper when he shot free throws?

Theres a lot of theories of what he mumbled at the free throw line, some say it's a shout out to his kids, some say it was a prayer to his dad or grand dad that died or something, some say championships, idk. Did he ever tell anybody what he said, or does it still remain a mystery?

  • How to solve for a quadratic equation when given three points?

    For my math portfolio, I have been given the problem to algebraically solve the equation when given (-2,51), (1,-9), and (5-33).I plugged them into y=a(x)^2+b(x)+c. From there I got the equations;

    51=4a-2b+c

    -9=a+b+c

    -33=25a+5b+c

If I eliminate -9=a+b+c then I get 60=3a-b and -24=24a+4b, but once I solve for a and b I get -22=a and -126=b. This is very off, and I don't know how to solve this. Could someone help me?

  • Will working out my calves a different day than my quads still work?

I kinda felt lazy today when I was working out, and I didn't work out my calves today, only my quads. Obviously it's not as tiring, but will I still get the same results? I'm going to finish my calves tomorrow. Usually I do a normal workout and do both and some other muscles...but it's like 9:30 PM right now lol.

  • Is becoming/learning how to be ambidextrous bad?

Soo I'm a basketball and violin player, and in music and sports using both hands is almost a need. As in playing basketball, you should be able to drive to the left, shoot left handed, do left handed layups, etc. Same thing for the violin and other instruments. I'm a lefty, and I wanted to be able to use my right hand better. Sooo I started to train my right hand little by little, but i'm still using my left hand most of the time. But then I go online and read all this stuff about how it'll drop my academic scores and stress my brain because then it doesn't know what hand to use? I'm still left-handed dominant, and I'm pretty good at school....

  • How to put in contacts?

I am trying to get contacts because I play basketball and my glasses are a huge annoyance. I had an eye exam today and I tried to put them on, it was REALLY hard. I'm left handed and I put in my left contact, with much trouble, of course, but I couldn't get it in on my right eye. My eyelashes are pretty dang long for a guy. Can someone help me? Whenever I pulled my eyelids up with my right hand and the bottom one with my left, they slipped right back into place and I couldn't put in the contact. Also when I grabbed my eyelids/eyelashes there were still a few poking out.

  • How to play more "serious"?

When I play basketball, sometimes I need "hustle." I feel like i'm not fully concentrated on playing basketball. Like when I go for a rebound, I know I could've jumped higher, or I could've saved that loose ball, or gave it a little more. But how do I give it a little more? I feel bad about this and I feel lazy. I see my friends hustling after rebounds against like freaking seven footers when they're five feet tall(no i'm exaggerating) and i'm standing there. What should I do to motivate myself?

Also how do I play against taller and heavier players in pick up games? The normal strategy would be to take charges and use speed, but i'm playing outdoors and it's really slippery so both kinda don't work.

  • How to handle trash talkers in basketball?

There's these people from my school and this college dude that always plays basketball with me during evening/night. It gets me really angry because they intentionally wrap up people and throw cheap shots, and the college dude says its not a foul. Most of the time it's a joke, but sometimes when things go far, he'll still say it's not a foul, or of it, he'll just say it's streetball man the f up. I have a really short tolerance for people who play dirty. This one person from my school that plays with me has literally Rondo arms he's like 5'8'' but his arms are like 6'3'' long and he just blocks everything and grabs every loose ball, and he thinks he's good, and he starts talking trash. I know trash is part of the game, but it doesn't mean intentionally fouling and saying it's streetball(You don't see flagrants in AND1..)

  • Proper way to jump highest for vertical(basketball)?

I'm 13, 5'6'', and I don't just really high but my jumping form is really inconsistent. Sometimes I'll just and not even touch the backboard. Sometimes I barely touch it, and sometimes I jump so that I touch maybe an inch or an inch and a half above the backboard bottom. How should I stride, run, and squat down so that I get my max vertical? Btw I am a two footed jumper I am completely weak off one foot.

  • Basketball How to play the post?

I've been playing basketball for some time now. I am kind of tall, 5'7'' almost and i'm 13, in my area most people are still midgets. But they're getting taller now. I can still play the forward spot, but I play like an over-sized guard. But I realized, over the summer, that when me and my friends play all we do is either drive, shoot, or try to cut in sometimes. I wanted to add some post offense. I know a lot of post moves, and I practice them frequently, but I don't know how to add them to my actual game. When I call for passes in the post, my friends never pass it, they only like to pass it out on the perimeter. And when they do pass it, the person behind me knocks it away from me a lot. I know I'm supposed to jump to the ball when it comes to me, chin it, etc., but I just can't seem to do it in games? Can anybody help me out?

  • Will not being on electronics help my eyesight improve?

I'm sick of having bad vision....ever since I was a kid my parents only had a computer and they threw away all my toys, so I often to the computer. Now it's become something that I can't really control I just go to it...even right now I'm on it. I've tried much to get off the computer and electronics, like playing basketball( I took this on about two years ago) and playing the violin. My vision is really really bad, I can't read anything without my glasses unless it's like literally 1 foot away from me. I know nothing will directly help my eyesight improve, but my friend needed glasses at one point and he just didn't go on his phone at all for like a year and he didn't need them anymore. I want to find a way other than using laser eye to stop getting my eyesight worse.

  • How to block someone in basketball when they're driving(read description pls)?

Okay so I actually have two questions here. But first.

Whenever someone drives in on me, they're usually on their right....and do a layup with their right hand. Whenever I try to look it it's like they hook it right away from it and I can't block it. Most people tell me to just try to alter the shot by going straight and putting a hand in their face but it doesn't work. Btw I'm taller than them most of the time....and I jump higher.

Second question I have is how do I get more like..explosiveness or hustle? I mean when I'm just jumping around, I jump the highest of my friends...I touch a little higher than the backboard maybe an inch and i'm like 5'6''. But when I'm playing, my short friend who's literally only 5'2'' and a half grabs almost every rebound. Most of the time I just don't feel the energy to JUMP my highest. And when I do I don't know how to time it so that I can grab it as quick and as high as possible. It's really annoying.
