is it true that states that don't expand medicaid don't care if their lower middle class dies or goes bankrupt?

    Well that's one interpretation. Those who oppose the Medicaid expansion generally argue that it will simply cost too much. Although the federal government picks up the cost for the whole expansion for the first few years and 90% after that, the expansion does impose some extra costs on the states and those states which have refused to expand it claim that those costs are too much for already stretched state budgets.

    Those are right wing States. The politicians are well aware those people don't contribute much in campaign donations.

    No in many cases they are doing exactly what the citizens of the state told them to do.

    I thought that was the whole point of Democracy that we had a say in what the government did.

    the feds are going to go bankrupt fund CA alone.
