Looking to do some crafts?

Question

Ok I have come to the conclusion that when the sun goes down and its time to come inside that there is nothing to do and I get extremely bored! So I have been thinking about doing some crafts that have to do with horses. I'm thinking more on the lines of horse wear, like braiding things or stuff to put on a saddle or in the horses manes. Its possible that I will be selling this stuff for a really cheap price. I have looked on pinterest to see if there is anything to do on there, but nothing has showed up of my liking ): I have seen some cool things with horseshoes, so that is not out of the question either. just looking for some ideas! Help me with my boredom! lol (:

Try making a braided halter! Or if you have supplies make a horse coat shine with good smelling products :)

If you like sewing you can find horse related cross stitch patterns. I also knit leg wraps for my friends horse. You can also try making your own halter. Try reading as well there are a couple of good horse series out there right now. I recommend Canterwood Crest by Burkhart and The horses of Oak Valley Ranch by Jane Smiley

You could try to write a horse novel for kids and teeangers (think along the lines of something like the Saddle Club, Heartland or whatever).

Draw/paint pictures of horses- if you don't already.

Make and sew your own stuffed soft toy in the shape of a horse. I've made a couple little birds last year (drew the pattern and hand sewn them myself). I have one hanging off my bag.

Make a scrap book of your horse pictures.

Have you thought about embroidering saddle pads? You could sew/stitch patches on to them, or the horse's name, the rider's name? Gift them to your friends for their birthday or Christmas presents at the end of the year.
Or making your own saddle and bridle bags? Special monogrammed helmet or boot bags?

I'm not sure how artsy you're feeling. I know a lot of people have troubles creating with charcoal, and so for a more manageable and free medium I would strongly suggest conte! I know-- its not exactly crafts. But, it's a lot of fun to work with.
