    y-y1=m(x-x1)

    y-(-8)=3(x-(-1))

    y+8=3x+3

    y=3x-5 is your answer

    (-1,-8) = (x1, y1)

    Point Slope Form:

    y - y1 = m( x - x1)

    Substitute

    y - (-8) = 3(x - (-1))

    y + 8 = 3(x+1) ------ (Point Slope Form)

    Slope-Intercept Form: Solve for Y

    Y = 3(x+1) - 8

    Y = 3x +3 -8

    Y = 3x +5 -------- (Slope Intercept Form)
