snacking all day?

Toddler wants to snack all day and wants to snack everytime she sees someone snacking even if she just ate.

My toddler is average weight/height she is 2 years old . She eats A Lot. She could go to an all you can eat buffet and just eat and eat and eat.

she can eat more than me.

I have just started restricting her to 3 meals and 2- 3 snacks (healthy snacks) per day.

my husband is on night shift so he eats his food at different times than us and I have to tell her that she already had her snack when he is waking up at 5pm and eating his breakfast cereal.

do I just let her snack a million times or restrict her? Its hard to do but I believe its best in the long run.

could she be going through a growth spurt or have a hard time knowing when she is full? I thought it was boredom so I am constantly going outside and playing with her it seems to help a bit, but any suggestions from people with the same problems who solved it?

Update:

she wanted to snack every 30 min pretty much. I have limited it to every 2 hours now, I think that will work

Update 2:

My husband wants to teach her that just because someone else is eating doesnt mean she can eat! Yes, out in public I understand. He thinks she will have problems because of this. I think its just cause she is a toddler and she will grow out of it.

If your giving her healthy snacks and is in the normal weight and height range I wouldn't worry about it too much, she's a growing girl and with all the running around toddlers can do they need all that energy from food :) my daughter is quite small and petite and she eats like a machine cause she's always on the go

When my daughter asks for food after a meal I give her a second serving of her last meal if there's any leftover, or if there was food untouched, I'll serve it to her again.

Be aware of what you're serving. Is she living off carbohydrates all day? Fat makes you feel full. If all she's eating is fruit and grain based foods it's no wonder she's hungry all day, she's not eating enough fat. Buy full fat dairy products, butter, olive oil, avocado, nut/seed butter, coconut oil and coconut milk and incorporate these foods into your child's meals, Make sure she's eating enough protein. Too many parents wait until supper time to serve meat. She needs more meat than that. Serve eggs instead of cereal for breakfast, Serve leftover meat as part of her lunch.

Kids need to eat a high fat diet for proper growth and development. Unfortunately, many parents serve just fruit, crackers, cereal, pasta, and bread to their kids with some low fat cheese and sugary yogurt thrown in and a smear of peanut butter. It's not a balanced diet. If you make some changes to her diet you'll notice a difference.

Well, meals don't have to be at the same time every day.....Is 5 too early for her? If not. give her breakfast too or, if that's too early, then let her have one of her healthy snacks and then have breakfast later.

Or you could even have five "meals" a day (at any times) by meals I mean whatever you would give her for a meal, split it up and add the other half to a snack....you get the idea.
