Has Internet Explorer been fixed?

I haven't been using it since they talked about some problem with hackers last month. I've been using Google Chrome and I like it for the most part but I've always used IE, I have Windows Vista and I know the problem was mainly a concern for XP users but I wanted to be safe.

Also, people keep saying that you should upgrade to Windows 7 or 8.1 but I was wondering if that costs anymore to do the upgrade and will my system which was set up for Vista be able to support all elements of an upgrade?

Supposedly Internet Explorer has been fixed. But it is riddled with all kinds of problems. If you want a good and safe browsing experience stay with Chrome and/or Firefox.

As far as updating your OS. Its difficult to say how much you will benefit because I don't know what you have on your computer. An update to Windows 7 might be OK but stay away from Windows 8, it like Internet Explorer is nothing but problems.

You might just want to wait until you can can a new computer and at that time you can update your operating system which is current at the time.

There is talk of Windows 9 in about a year.

I hope this helps you but the answer is not a simple one.

Good Luck with whatever you choose to do.

Internet Explorer on W7 or W8 is apparently not working any better. So it would be no advantage to upgrade. You might find many of your programs may not be compatible with W7 or W8 (especially W8). So, if I were you, I would stick it out with Vista, and use Chrome or Firefox.
